ADHD NZ ambassador Petra Leary shortlisted for ZEISS Photography Award
A huge congratulations to our ambassador Petra Leary for being shortlisted Top 7 (of 9000 entries) in the 2019 ZEISS Photography Award competition run through the Sony World Photography Awards with her submission the Daily Geometry series.
We first met Petra as an insightful young adult who was very articulate about her experiences with ADHD and was discovering her talents as a graphic designer and graffiti artist. We recently reconnected with Petra when she contacted us to offer the photo she had created for ADHD Awareness Month. The image, which you can now see on our homepage, is made from Lego and illustrates boldness and brightness.
Since picking up a camera her photography has taken her across New Zealand, over the ditch to Australia and beyond the Southern Hemisphere to Cuba, Canada and The United States. Petra is now an award-winning photographer, who captures seemingly ordinary views but from a different perspective as many of her photos are taken using a drone. Her work has been featured in various publications and sites around the world - she is really flying and is an inspiration to young ADHDers everywhere.
