Changes to the Special Authority renewal process
We know the two-yearly special authority (SA) renewal is stressful for those on stimulant medication and involves an expensive trip to a specialist.
We are conscious of this. Consequently, we have been talking with Pharmac and the Ministry of Health (for months) about this. You'll be pleased to know they're open to change.
At a recent meeting, ADHD NZ Board members and staff discussed this issue, and we are sending a letter to Pharmac outlining our views.
Pharmac will ask you (the public) for feedback before they make any changes to the renewal process.
We will let you know when this happens so you can have your say.
