Australia has a new ADHD guideline for clinicians – does it apply in NZ?A new clinical guideline for ADHD was launched last month in Australia after years of work led by the Australian ADHD Professionals Association (AADPA).
ADHD NZ is pushing for this guideline to be endorsed by medical practitioners in New Zealand so it becomes the new standard. So far, the colleges for psychiatrists and paediatricians have endorsed the guideline, and the clinical psychologists have set up a review panel to look at doing the same. What this means for New Zealanders with ADHD and their whanau is they can check with the guideline to see if the support they are receiving is best practice and evidence-based.
