The Impact of female hormones on ADHD symptoms

For girls and women with ADHD, normal monthly fluctuations of hormone levels—as well as major hormonal changes such as puberty, premenstrually, peri- and post-natally, peri-menopause and menopause—can significantly impact ADHD symptoms. Meet our Speakers:
Dr Petra Hoggarth (PhD, PGDipClinPsyc) is a Christchurch-based clinical psychologist supporting adult clients, including by diagnosing and treating ADHD. She has a particular interest in the impact of female hormones on ADHD symptoms throughout a women’s life. In addition, Petra provides psychotherapeutic treatment of anxiety disorders, depression, adjustment to life circumstances, and relationship problems.

Niki Bezzant is a multi-award-winning New Zealand writer, journalist, speaker and author who has built a reputation for translating complex health and science jargon into easy-to-understand information. Her book on menopause, This Changes Everything, was published in 2022 and is the result of two years of research and has topped the bestseller list in NZ.
