Emotional Regulation Group for Adolescents, Auckland

If you're 15-18 years old, and are struggling to tolerate or regulate intense emotions, then  participating in these group discussions and activities, and committing to practicing your new skills between the group sessions - can help you to get better at managing your feelings exactly where and when you need them.

By the end of the group you'll have:
  • increased your understanding of emotions and your ability to identify your own patterns of emotional regulation
  • developed skills to reduce your vulnerability to strong and intense emotions
  • developed skills for helping you to manage your emotions in healthier and more helpful ways, and
  • developed skills to deal with crisis urges and tolerate intense emotions that may not be changeable in the moment.

Eight dates: 
  • starting Thursday 15th October, and
  • ending on Thursday 3rd December. 

Time: 5pm - 6.30pm. 

Cost: $595.00 (incl. GST; payment required to secure place)

​About the presenter: Dayna Cooper, B.A., M.A. (Hons), MClinPsych, NZCCP
​
​Dayna is a clinical child and adolescent psychologist and group facilitator who is skilled at engaging and motivating children, adolescents and their families to make positive changes in their lives. 

Taking a strengths-based and client-centered approach, she is interested in the assessment and diagnosis of ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders using neuropsychological assessment tools and specialised clinical interviewing and observation techniques.

Dayna has over a decade of experience in providing assessment and therapeutic intervention for children, adolescents and young adults who present with a wide range of mental health concerns, including and specialising in emotional dysregulation, eating disorders, trauma and abuse, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, anxiety disorders and dissociative disorders.

Dayna is positive, encouraging and calm, with a great sense of humour and a passion for supporting young people to reach their potential and overcome their difficulties. ​She values collaboration, consultation and a partnered approach with the families she works with.
