ADHD NZ marketplace's list of product/service exclusions

The following is a non-exhaustive list of excluded products and services. This list can be changed at any time at the discretion of ADHD NZ. 

If you see a product or service that you feel aligns with any description of item included within any one of these catregories, feel free to email us at info@adhd.org.nz

   Medicinal products
Vertical Divider
​Includes:
  1. Any medication that required a prescription to purchase e.g., [non-] stimulant medications, anti-depressants and cannabis. 
  2. Any medication devices.
  3. Addiction-cessation products that contain hazardous materials e.g., smoking-cessation products.
  4. Any products that have presence of Class A (very high risk e.g., methamphetamine, magic mushrooms, cocaine, heroin, LSD (Acid)) or Class B (high risk e.g., cannabis oil, hashish, morphine, opium, ecstasy and many amphetamine-type substances) or Class C (moderate risk e.g. cannabis seed, cannabis plant, codeine) controlled drugs according to MedSafe.

​Does not include:
  1. MedSafe approved remedies that are ingested and do not require a prescription to purchase, such as: 
  • MedSafe-approved Supplemented Foods (e.g., nootropics like ENZO, Arepa) if it is represented as a food that has a substance or substances added to it or that has been modified in some way to perform a physiological role beyond the provision of nutritive requirement. 
  • MedSafe-approved Dietary Supplements (e.g., vitamins, probotics) which are regulated the relevant NZ legislation e.g., the Food Act 1981 or the Dietary Supplements Regulations 1985, that may specify a number of requirements relating to matters such as composition, labelling and permitted daily doses. 
   Licensed products

  1. Alcohol.
  2. Financial e.g., virtual currency or documents such as NFTs, actual currency, financial instruments.
  3. Gambling e.g., gaming, betting, lotteries, raffles, casino, fantasy sports, bingo, poker and sweepstakes.

Does not include:
  1. ​Licensed financial products where the current license and appropriate disclosures can be viewed in one click e.g., insurance. 
   Bodies

Includes:
HUMANS
  1. Body parts or fluids.
  2. Exploitation or trafficking.
  3. Sexual services (e.g., prostitution, escort).
  4. Anyone who has not undertaken to complete a professional certification or qualification to execute a service.
ANIMALS 
  1. Any part that belonged to an animal, dead or alive.

Does not include:
  1. Services that aim to directly mitigate challenges a person with ADHD may have e.g., coaching support.
   Hazardous materials or substances

  1. Tobacco.
  2. Substances that are not prescribed by a medical professional or brought in a pharmacy e.g., illegal drugs.
  3. Drug paraphernalia.

  1. Items that are not for sale e.g., news content.
  2. ​Products or services that: 
  • have been recalled 
  • have been stolen 
  • infringe on intellectual, copy or trademark rights of another 
  • are being sold with misleading, false or fraudulent claims 
  • May in any way harm another e.g. explosives, weapons, ammunition  
  • endorse or promote unlawful activity, violence, hate, abuse, invade, or discrimination against another 
  • are not new e.g., second-hand products, or
  • offer to match people e.g. dating apps, pet adoption apps.
